Graduate Student Researcher

Patrick Shorey is an MASc candidate in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. His research focuses on the process modeling and siting optimization of absorption-based direct air capture facilities in Canada. He employs process engineering, engineering economics, multi-criteria decision making, and optimization in his work. Prior to joining the APEX research group at Carleton, he worked on microclimate wind prediction in the private sector. He graduated with a CSME Gold Medal award from Queen’s University in 2020.
